Clay's Bar Mitzvah day went off without a hitch. We started with family photos at Washington Hebrew Congregation, followed by a beautiful service in the sanctuary. I love that WHC allows photography during their services, even if it means I'm restricted to shoot from the sanctuary balcony. Fortunately, my long lens still allows me to capture all the special moments on the bima.
After the service, a private shuttle took everyone to Yours Truly Hotel near Dupont Circle for one of the most unique parties I've seen yet. Clay's family recently bought a vacation home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which inspired them to throw a ski lodge/Colorado-themed celebration, complete with a mechanical bull, hydraulic snowboard, and indoor snow! They even had a vintage ski lift chair in the photo booth. It was epic, and so fun to photograph!
