Ellie's mom, Lauren, was one of my very first Bat Mitzvah clients. She saw my photos of a Simchat Torah event at her synagogue, Temple Rodef Shalom, and reached out to see if I would be interested in shooting her daughter's big day. Despite my not having any B'nai Mitzvah photography in my portfolio yet, she took a chance on me and the rest is history!

Because Temple Rodef Shalom doesn't allow photography during their Mitzvah services, I photographed Ellie's rehearsal to get some action shots of her on the bima, followed by a portrait shoot with her family. On the big day, Ellie celebrated with a literary-themed party in the temple's social hall. I love shooting in this space during the day, because there are so many windows that let in beautiful natural light. It was wonderful getting to know this sweet family, and I can't wait to celebrate the younger brother, Jack, in 2022!
